Okay, I haven't paid as much attention to this subject
as I should have and my initial response was that the
Park Board was playing nice last year and then got
shafted by the city council, mayor and board of
estimate and taxation, so alls fair. My second
response was deep annoyance that my neighborhood
continues to get the shaft when it comes to repairing
and maintaining a stupid little basketball court, but
the funds were amazingly available when it comes to
buying, fixing up and maintaining a new park board
facility.
But, just a second ago, I took a look at the location
of this new park building. On the riverfront. Maybe a
block away from the old Riverview Supper Club. Within
a stone's throw from the site that the park board
threw a hissy fit over when a developer bought it and
proposed a housing development. Then there was plenty
of moral indignation that the Upper River Master Plan
and its vision for a park with ampitheatre (sp) and
tremendous view of downtown was threatened so soon
after the plan was completed. Now the park board buys
adjacent land...and wants to turn it into offices for
itself. Whatta crock!

But me, I'm still on the road
Headin' for another joint
We always did feel the same,
We just saw it from a different point of view,
Tangled up in blue.
