Hi All!

They just blew the horn on the Gahf Tourney so I returned home from the
Sports Bar to catch up on email.

Uh Oh!

Early this afternoon, in my haste to leave the house to get to a place where
they have TNT on satellite, I compulsively scribbled out a post meant to
draw attention to a serious issue and I made a typo.... No, I pulled a
childish prank which effectively nuked the serious purpose of my post, that
is, to draw attention to a masterful bit of spin regarding the Park Board
shenanigans.

I apologize. You know the old advice of writing a letter, putting it aside
and reading it later before sending? That is an email discipline that I
just gotta learn, but probably never will. Too easy to hit SEND.

Growing up enduring all sorts of nicknames related to my physical, um,
"huskiness" and my name, (Pa Kettle, Pot Kettle, K-TEL, Lardass, etc.... has
perhaps desensitized me to the hurtfulness of having a name made into a
tease.

I am also a big Monty Python fan, from which I have inherited a warped sense
of "humour."

I seriously meant no real offense to Ms. Ero-Phillips, but having re-read
the post I see the error of my ways.

So, as I sit on the bubble, list-membership-wise, I beg everyone's
forgiveness. I really AM a serious policy wonk and enjoy participating. I
will not stop posting lame attempts at satire, humor out of my posts, and I
will probably make an ass out of myself frequently, but I will refrain from
personal cheap shots.

It seems like the post that set me off has gone pretty much unchallenged.
Let's stop worrying about the class clown and focus on rebutting this weak
rationalization of the Park Board's arrogant actions.

Too clever by half (in my own warped mind)
