Hello, fellow list members -- Once again I postr to remind you of the wonders that await each Sunday AM on the west side of Nicollet Avenue between 42nd and 43rd streets.
Elsie's farm and several other family farmers bring a huge variety of veggies, fruits, and honey. There is locally-created handmade soap and jewelry. And Dancing Oak Farm will be there again this Sunday with grass-fed beef from our own bio-region. I think it is a good thing to circulate those dollars within our local economy and to support a great variety of entrepreneurs in our city and bioregion who are working in ways which improve our environment as well as our economy. And beyond that, farmers markets create and build friendships and community as folks greet one another, sip coffee or munch goodies, swap recipes and compare notes about goings-on about town. I forward (below my signature) a note from Jim at Dancing Oak Farm...I hope this keeps with the spirit of the list -- I don't mean this to be "spam", but rather information for folks. I think we have such wonderful CSA and local farms, and these folks take the time and effort to get up in the wee hours of Sunday morning to carefully pack up and bring locally-grown agricultural products right to our neighborhoods. That is just great, in my opinion! Also, there are local artisans here in town making everything from specialty breads to soaps and unique jewelry, clothing, and pottery. It is fun to see, hear, chat, and browse at neighborhood farmers markets -- i recommend it......now, to sign off and forward Jim's message... -Gary Hoover King Field (From Jim Hare at Dancing Oak Farm < [EMAIL PROTECTED] > ) Hi folks, This will be the last opportunity until September to fill your freezer with grassfed beef from Dancing Oak Farm. I have plenty of 25 pound boxes and a few larger roasts available this weekend, Sunday Aug. 18 9-1 pm Hope to see you there. Also, for those of you who want quarters this year, please send me a note. I have one quarter that will be available in about a month. The rest are still enjoying the summer pasture but I'd like to get an idea how many quarters to save back.
