When I ran for the school board years ago, the Strib "manufactured" a
totally inaccurate platform for me which they then printed in the paper.
When I immediately called them on it, even faxing a letter to the editor
because they did not retract the misinformation, they still ignored me.  Had
my name been, for example, Judy Farmer, I am quite sure a retraction would
have happened the next day.  Maybe I should have went in and screamed
instead of trying to behave in a dignified manner.
