Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak said Friday
that he's raised spending on affordable
housing by 81 percent this year, a figure
that puzzles housing advocates and is roughly
twice what the city's housing managers say
has occurred.

Meanwhile this week, a key nonprofit ally
of the city's affordable-housing efforts
registered his displeasure over funding
procedures by quitting two committees he leads.
