While not appreciating the personal insults that Mr. Mork has attempted on
Atherton, they have been effective. I would not have thought to vote for
him, except for the insults. They convinced me Atherton must be worth
voting for. Mr. Atherton's willingness to continue the public debate while
being personally attacked also convinced me to vote for him. Issues come
and go but character is difficult to find in low level political office, (in
higher level elected office it disappears altogether, in the minds of some).
Having graduated from college after dropping out of school to work (and not
doing high school and the prom) I can appreciate someone who may have some
personal experience with dropouts, and you can't get any more personal than
to have done it.(Isn't this one of the only issues in the race). Since 50%
of the Minneapolis children will experience this identity, having someone on
the board who has "Real" experience overcoming the identity might also be
helpful.

Oh, for the days of Andrew Jackson when such personal attacks and insults
could be answered on a field of honor, with pistol or blade. Being a
wonderful pistol shot and fairly adroit with a sword I could have had sooo
much fun. I guess I am just an anachronism who longs for more simple times.
