Wow, we have a buzzing forum lately! Robin Garwood noted that left right and center all have taken an anti-stadium posture. That is right as far as it goes. But the trouble is that not ALL of each group have taken that posture. It is an issue that splinters every faction. And, as such, it is not a good issue for determining the general philosophy of a candidate.
Try something like schools, workmans comp, or affordable housing. I think you wont find the values all over the map on those. As for terror cells in Minneapolis, two things: First, that is our incompetent federal law enforcement telling us this. So, dont jump at the chance to believe it. Second, does anyone recall how gangsters sometimes came here in the 30s to lie low? I think this region is a great place to disappear. Pamela Taylor writes: Tomorrow, or even the next fifteen minutes, could be the end of life as we know it for someone. We keep repeating God Bless America, and proclaiming to be one nation under God. That started with the Pilgrims. But they praised God for wiping out Indian villages. So we know what kind of God they believed they were under. A white European God. Not that different from the Germanic gods Hitler idolized. Scott Person wrote: On weekend afternoons we would notice at least a couple cars an hour run that light by shear ignorance, at night they would notice it but during the day it happened quite often. Where are the photo-cops when you NEED them????????? Marj Rolland asks: . At what point does a cab driver loose his license to operate in Mpls? How many red lights do they need to run? How many people do they need to injure? Did you ask Ron Ostrow? What was his answer? Jason Goray wrote: Why not intersperse bike/ped only streets with the high traffic auto corridors - make every few blocks around the city grid non-motorized traffic. Maybe let "local motorized traffic only" use the streets for a block or two (at really low speed limit) for parking purposes, but other than that, no cars, no trucks, no motorcycles (although there would need to be discussion around motorized bicycles and scooters). I like the idea. But the problem I see is enforcement. If so much else isnt enforced, why would this be? I think the only REAL solution is a path too narrow for cars. Joseph Barisonzi wrote: . My understanding from them is that IF they watched cars in their front yard they would be spending most of their lives in court as a witness to car accidents. So, put the same equipment there that the state had at Snelling and Concordia in St Paul. I believe it was called photo cop and lots of people supported it. Jim Mork (Cooper) __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
