Council Member Zollie Green had a vending business and demanded all of the laundry and other concessions at Cedar Square West. He told Keith that he would have the inspections department order ALL of the sidewalks replaced on Keith's West Bank properties (350 parcels) if Mr. Green didn't get the vending contract.
Keith refused to play ball, and sure enough - hundreds of inspection orders were issued to replace the sidewalks. Houses situated between our properties did not receive notices. Keith replaced the sidewalks at a cost of over $500,000. Ethics have been deficient in Minneapolis City government for a long time. Maybe things are changing for the better. Time will tell.
