Jim -

You can afford the pumpkins. You don't need to steal them. Here is my
advice for you:

Take one glorious fall Saturday.
About 10:00 am, drive out Highway 36 east.
Go to Highway 15.
There will be pumpkins for sale. Do not stop.
Turn left (north)
Go past Aammot's apple farm.
Observe the suburban sprawl to your left and be thankful you don' t have to
live in it.
After a mile or so, there will be a pick your own pumpkin patch on your
left.
Stop. Pick as many pumpkins as you want. The far pumpkin patch is always
better. Run with some if you like if you want to indulge any pumpkin
stealing fantasies.
Remember the rules about pumpkin selection: roundness, color, bumpyness,
good stem.
Also pick up some indian corn to hang on your door and some corn cobs to
feed the squiirels.
Pay for said pumpkins.
Go back south, to Aammot's apple farm.
Ether hop a trailer and pick your own apples or go in and buy them
prebagged. Pick up some apple fritters or pies or fresh apple juice while
there.
Then go to the St Croix Vineyards Wine Tasting room. They open at noon.
Sample wines. Be sure to try the Raspberry Infusion.
Buy some wonderful wine.
Go home. Enjoy the color of the leaves.
Place pumpkins about your yard. Hang the indian corn on your front door.
Go into your back yard. Sit on your back steps. Open a bottle of wine or
apple juice. Grab one of those apple fritters.
Think how glorious the fall is.
