I personally think it's a good idea to have access to 35W in both directions from Lake Street. Otherwise what happens is people going to Lake St overshoot and go to 35th/36th st and come back up north. I'm not convinced that Lake St needs to be widened in order to accomidate this. >The project is several years old and has been largely driven by the >interests >of the major corporate employers of the near south side: Allina Health >Care, >Wells Fargo and others. >STRIDE invites you to join us in helping avoid this misguided step away >from >the goals of the Minneapolis Plan. I think it's good to have employers like Allina and Wells Fargo in Minneapolis. My question is how to get both places to hire more people who live in the immediate area into the career track jobs. Having more of their employees living in the immediate area means there is less rush hour congestion on those ramps. My understanding is some of the peak hours of prostitution is the morning rushhour -- which suggests commuters buying prostitutes on their way to work. This bothers me. Would these same people crud up their own neighborhoods in this way?
