Financially, a war with Iraq will be a Mpls issue. As in all politics is local.....The latest estimated cost of a war is 200 billion dollars. Where will that come from? It will come from us....If the city council passed a resolution opposing the war strictly from a financial point of view I wouldn't mind. I think it would be prudent. Symbols have power, ask Carl Jung.
We could have a little compassion.... from the people of Mpls to the people of Baghdad and say "Not in my name!!!!". We could if we wanted to, I have to wonder about John Lennon's generation.....??????? I have to say I was heartily inspired by the Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone. During a rally last Saturday in London, where a crowd of 300,000 to 500,000 people gathered, he had some very critical things to say about our King and his latest tomfoolery. Where are our Ken Livingstone's? ffi on why a war with Iraq is not what it's supposedly about go to http://www.democracynow.org "We should fight to check the enemy, not eliminate him. We must learn to include ourselves in the round of cooperation and conflicts, of symbiosis and preying, which constitutes the balance of nature, for a permanently victorious species destroys, not only itself, but all other life in its environment." -Alan Watts, The Book Robert Yorga St. Anthony West _______________________________________ Minneapolis Issues Forum - A Civil City Civic Discussion - Mn E-Democracy Post messages to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe, Unsubscribe, Digest option, and more: http://e-democracy.org/mpls
