Hi all,
I wanted to let the various neighborhood groups know that the Minnesota Office of Environmental Assistance has issued a RFP offering grants of up to $20,000 for waste reduction projects. Grants are awarded on a 2:1 matching basis. Local government units in Minnesota are eligible applicants. Examples include counties, cities, townships, and neighborhood associations. Joint powers boards and other regional entities with waste management responsibilities are also eligible applicants. Although ineligible as primary applicants, partnerships involving local businesses (e.g., electric or gas utilities and newspapers), community-based Minnesota nonprofit organizations, and educational organizations are welcome and encouraged. Through this RFP, OEA will provide matching grants to interested local organizations to increase their active involvement in implementing Minnesotas Waste Reduction Campaign. The intent is for counties, cities, joint power authorities, and other public institutions to assist in: - further educating the public about waste reduction themes and practical approaches by using existing campaign ads, fact sheets, and other materials - developing new public education approaches and materials to carry out future public education efforts on priority waste topics or methods not previously employed by OEA Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis and the final deadline is April 4, 2003. More details and a downloadable RFP and application are available at: http://www.moea.state.mn.us/grants/current.cfm#reduction Please email me off list if you have any questions. Also, if someone who also participates in the St. Paul Issues Forum could forward this notice to that forum, I would really appreciate it.
