How true. I think a good idea would be enhance the sound walls around the
494-694 ring, and install screening gates. Then we could make sure that no
"undesirables" get into Our Fair City from the scary Outside World... and
when we drive those awful Library Board commissioners out of town on a rail,
they won't be able to get back in.

Ow, I just bit my tongue.

Subject: [Mpls] Library Board

Seems like there's a pattern of uncontrolled
spending with the library board. Where do those
people come from, anyway, Kenwood? Every time we
turn around, they have more expensive plans.

I love libraries, but my cherished memories
aren't buildings designed by architectural
celebrities. Good books made me forget WHAT the
surroundings looked like.

Reminds me of all the past efforts to "get
Minneapolis noticed". I think we've been noticed
ENOUGH. I just read that the lady cop was killed
by a Chicago transplant. Now given the history of
Chicago-area police, I can understand the hair
trigger of a transplant, but on the other hand,
our "getting noticed" has led to all kinds of
people coming here from Chicago, Detroit, and
Gary.

Seems to me like being noticed LESS would be an
excellent goal, especially if it would save some
money.
