The Minneapolis City Council approved a
plan Friday that could lead to federal
mediation between the police and the community.

The council voted 10 to 3 to direct Police
Chief Robert Olson to start working on
the parameters with Department of Justice
senior mediator Patricia Campbell Glenn
and to report back on what the two develop.
No mediation plan will be in effect until
the council agrees on one, and any plan is
expected to include details on who will be
in the talks.
