I like how the Internet EXTENDS the functions of libraries. For example, libraries now have more flexibility in the hours they are open because many people can search for and select books on the Internet.
But Internet is no more a SUBSTITUTE for a library than a cane is a substitute for a healthy leg. Libraries are knowledge warehouses where you can go for a refill. And books take more thought and care than most of what you find on the Internet.
