I have frends who also raise chickens in South Minneapolis (they're in Longfellow). They, too, had a rooster for a little while, but not all of their neighbors took as kindly to this as you did. Eventually, the rooster was no more. I don't know if they gave it to relatives in the country or what...

Oh... to add to the last laundry list... our neighbor Kevin had a brood of chickens and a rooster in his backyard (we live not far from the Lake Street / Nicollet Ave area) when we first bought our house in 1998.

Imagine our shock when, at 5 in the morning as the sun rose each day we heard... cock-a-doodle-dooooo!
