Minnesota Transitions Charter School (MTS) has taken over the site of the MTTA.  All the computers and many of the programs have been saved.  We currently offer programs in C++, Java, A+ computer repair at the site along with a 9-12 curriculum.  There is a computer terminal for every student and we integrating technology and the internet into the regular curriculum.  We currently have 210 students at the site and will be expanding the program in November.  We have a Sound studio at our other high school (160 students) along with aviation, photography and video production.  MTS also has a middle school (75 students) that partners with MIGIZI, a Native American technology program. We have an elementary program that has taken over the old St. Albert's School.  We have an Independent Study Program along with an On Line School.

I sympathize with the Ms. Ohnstad and her frustrations with the MTTA situation.  I attempted to help save the program at MTTA.  I found dealing with Mr. Hammond very difficult.  In the end, we had to wait until MTTA closed to rebuild to have a chance to work with the facility.  This was a not my first choice, but the financial mess could not be resolved.  Or at least, I could not negotiate successfully with Mr. Hammond.

MTS has no financial responsibility for any of the MTTA debt or situation.  These were all resolved at the Sheriff's auction with the Bank and the Landlord foreclosing on the site.

I wish all the parents and students well who attended MTTA.  About 70 have joined our school.
