Then you should be proud to know that Minneapolis had the highest voter turn-out in the nation on Tuesday including a record turn-out in Minneapolis.

The voter turn-out in my legislative district was HUGE. Generally, my area is very low. The voter turn-out was also huge on the northside of Minneapolis.
Yes it was, and Keith Ellison won big in 58B. I congratulate Keith for winning, but I am concerned about his tactics of demonizing the Property Rights Action Committee. I heard from Eve White, ED of PRAC that Keith was shouting at PRAC members supporting Duane Reed - how many blacks have you given UDs to today? Ellison also ran an ad in this week's insight that went after PRAC calling the members all slumlords and bragging about how he defends renters who get UDs and helps renters who get UDS expunge their records. I'm just wondering how much this attitude helps get more affordable housing. To me it seems like it is enabling people to keep on with their dysfunctional and anti-social behavior, rather than taking the personal responsibility that can help people successfully move on with their lives. Larissa Presho the Republican in this race came in a respectable second for running in an extremely DFL district. I hope Larissa learns from her race and comes back.

Whatever the turn-out. People got out to vote. That is a good thing.
I agree. I also think it's going to be important for the City to look long and hard at their strategy for dealing with the state government. I think the typical strategy -- blaming the Republicans for everything will not be successful. I hope the Mayor of the City of Minneapolis quits whining about the Republicans (I understand Rybak is very angry with GOP legislatures), and basically gets over it, quits whining, rolls up his sleeves and figures out ways to work with the Governor and state house. I hope to see Rybak invite our new Governor to visit the great city of Minneapolis.

I also hope our new state auditor takes a hard look at NRP.
