I'm a strong believer in getting up signs up immediately. But some people just don't bother. If you can find the time to put them up, you can find time to take them down.
I took up what I hope is the last Shane Price for City Council sign last Wednesday, a year after it should have been gone. And while this one was in pretty obscure yard, the ones on Emerson, Fremont and Lowry weren't!
