What makes this a Minneapolis topic? Well I guess I can start by thanking Minneapolis for providing a darn good climate for my two-mom family to thrive in. It is exhausting trying to educate the ignorant and justify my two-mom-family's existence to the closed-minded. So I really appreciate getting a little help today from the strib! I have found much support for my family in our neighborhood and school but know that there are many in our region who would question my right to parent. In my work for Rainbow Families the past five years, I have come to really treasure my city and the amazing set of allies the LGBT communities have here. Thanks, folks. Betty Tisel Minneapolis P.S. There's also many children who would benefit from having just ONE good parent, never mind the parent's gender or sexual identity.
