Interesting article. It's unfortunate that they didn't
identify any persons of color who are likely to run
for the position. And if there is anyone who is
interested, they should make up their mind
immediately. I have already received a phone call from
Olin Moore, a staffer with Congressman Sabo who is
fairly well known in DFL circles, who is running.

The biggest obsticle to a person of color winning this
seat is the divide between Northeast and North.
Today's article is dead-on when it mentions that
people in Northeast didn't much like Sandra Hillary as
council member and people in North were critical of
Joe Biernat. Everyone thinks that a council member
from the other side of the river will neglect their
issues. And while most of the minority voting age
population is on the North side, most voters are in
Northeast. And that's only going to get worse when the
resistricting plan finally goes into effect.
