I want to thank Kristi and the library for not only their service-oriented budgeting but also their generous approach to communication. There's not much in local government I know as much about as the libraries and their management. I would love to see the county and city governments strive for that standard. And it is comforting to see the library systems in the metro practicing the arts of cooperation to the benefit of all library patrons. Would that the metro communities could cooperate that well in other common interests. ---------------------------------------- I see there's now a channel 71 that broadcasts the city government meetings live. This may finally be what moves me to broadband. A lot of this stuff happens when I can't be there. ---------------------------------------- I agree with the poster who says that we need a different vision from ever-increasing traffic. Some link it to economic growth, but I consider it a slippery hill toward melting the ice caps and drowning the coastal cities. Amazing that humanity, having achieved the wonders of the last century, now says "Like to but I can't". What a downer. What we need are parking garages south of 494 and express busses (burning natural gas or running on electricity) ferrying the passengers into the city. -----------------------------------------
