This is a mighty defensive response.

First of all, those who shouted, "love it or leave it, were shouting it as
citizens of the US to other citizens of the US. who were criticizing this
country's Vietnam War policy. Nice try, but no cigar.

If you are not a citizen of Minneapolis, you're in no position to determine
its leadership or the make-up of its political structure. If you live in
Edina and attempt to dictate to Minneapolis or any other city of which you
are not a resident, you will be roundly ignored. Should you believe strongly
enough that the City of Minneapolis is dominated by the DFL, perhaps it is,
at least in part, because republicans and others of conservative persuasion
first abandon their city, then promptly turn around and demand different
leadership in a city they simply didn't care enough about to stick around
and help change the leadership they so freely criticize.

Take that for a sentence.

Move back to your roots and run or forever hold your peace.

inevitably develop between politicians and journalists. When professional
