The City of Minneapolis is also providing residents the option of parking cars in a
SnOasis during a Snow Emergency. SnOasis is one example of how Minneapolis is
improving snow removal and parking rules this season. Fewer cars on the streets will
translate to better and more efficient snow plowing by City crews.
A SnOasis is a parking lot or ramp that allows folks to get their cars off the street
(at a free or reduced rate) during the first night of Snow Emergency parking
restrictions (the first night of Snow Emergency parking restrictions runs from 9 p.m.
until 8 a.m.). SnOasis rules vary. Please check SnOasis parking regulations at each
location for entry and exit times and fees.
Currently, there are five SnOasis parking ramps available, three at the University of
Minnesota and two near downtown Minneapolis.
Currently there are five ramps (three at the University and one each in Loring Park
and Elliot Park) that will cater to the needs of the residents that live around there.
Residents can move their cars into these lots during the first night of the Snow
Emergency and be responsible for moving the car early next morning to avail of the
reduced rates. Parking at the University SnOasis ramps is free during the night.
