Four hours ago I started a very heated reply to this post, but then
remembered David's warnings. So I waited a few hours, ate dinner, and wrote
a "Slightly" warm one instead. (see David, even hardheaded people can learn
to get along in gentle company)

I disagree wholeheartedly with Linda's description of Barbara Johnson. I
find Barb Johnson level headed and bright, with an ability to communicate
with "regular" residents of Minneapolis. Barbara represents a totally
different area from the ward where I live, but I would be very happy to have
Barbara as my Councilperson. Perhaps Linda could elaborate on what she
considers the traits of the "Worst" CMs ever". Also, perhaps Linda could
tell us who she thinks is a good CM, and what makes that person so good.
Especially those that presently occupy the position of City Council Member.
I can think of some past CMs that I might label as "Worst". Barb Johnson is
certainly not close to such a description and in fact just the opposite.

Barbara is the rare council member who will call you back on a City issue,
even if you are not in her ward. Paul Ostrow, and Dan Niziolek, are others
who share that attribute. Barbara clearly does not have the overwhelming
political ambition that characterizes some Council Members, but she
represents her ward members and also addresses City wide issues. I am not
pandering or blowing smoke when I say that I count on Barbara and Scott
Benson for that "Common Sense" to keep the City on the correct track.

I wonder about what criteria Linda is using for her analysis and
description. Clearly a different one from any I would use.
