STARTRIBUNE: "Hooley worries that new landlords and businesspeople along E.
Franklin might pressure City Hall to rid the neighborhood of the people who
visit Peace House, setting off a chain reaction of police harassment.
"That's the way it's worked in other cities," he said, shrugging."

I'm sorry, but would anyone wonder why they would pressure City Hall to move
a place like this?

STARTRIBUNE: "A large woman sitting near the door smells of cheap wine."

STARTRIBUNE: "...had gone nearly two months without crack. He later slipped,
disappointing not only himself but several volunteers."

STARTRIBUNE: "A day or so before two suspected drug dealers were arrested a
few feet outside the Peace House door, Taylor took stock."

Where is this place located? In the Phillips neighborhood just outside
Whittier's border. Is this supportive housing? Probably not in the
technical sense since they don't sleep inside overnight, but yes in the
sense that this place provides services to drug addicts, inebriants,
mentally ill and homeless people.

How does a place like this affect me? My three year old son and I stopped
walking or riding our bikes on Franklin or 22nd St and through Washburn Fair
Oaks Park this summer because of CONSTANTLY being harassed, pan-handled,
offered drugs and cursed at by people going to and from such facilities near
Franklin Av around the 35W area (Loaves & Fishes, St. Stephens homeless
shelter, Peace House).

I know I'll be knocked around over this one since the article was one of
those "human interest" stories that people love to read about. However, I'm
not sure if a reader would have the same "interest" if they lived nearby.
