After reading all the people who are filing for
this special election, one HOPES there is a
runoff feature.  Otherwise, Ward 3 could have the
"privilege" of being represented by someone who
got 15 percent of the vote.  Too bad it isn't
legal to run this one IRV to save the money and
hassle of two elections.  Let everybody rank all
the candidates and give them points per ranking,
just like they do in the sports polls.  That
would at least tell people that the winner had
support from a SUBSTANTIAL portion of Ward 3
voters.  If they want independent voices sounding
in the upcoming decisions about restraint in
spending and prioritizing expenditures, I think
this would be the way to do it.
