"We have signed the following businesses; Check cashing/payday advance, used goods, pawnshop, gas station/auto repair, tattoo parlor, fast-food
w/drivethrough, liquor store, gun shop, and homeless shelter."

I will hope that the above is a joke of some kind. If it isn't, this is really a sorry group of businesses to place in an area always rocked with problems. To put a payday/cash advance in the neighborhood, would only serve as further economic failure to the people on the Northside.

Why, they are just like Rent-A-Center, with interest rates beyond what any normal human begin could afford. These places are rip off's, they are set up to keep you forever in debt making money off the interest that has to be paid, if you cannot pay the balance in full. Not to mention, that people have to use the checking accounts to write checks to the company. I've seen people go from having a good and responsible checking accounts to bad risk credit, with bad credit, you cannot buy a home, nor in some places rent apartments. This just seems like another attempt to keep the community contained in a small area. As far as gas stations, how many other ones have been opened and closed on on the "WAY"??

How sad...
