To the Citizens of Minneapolis,

The death of Minneapolis Park Commissioner, Ed Solomon, is a great loss to us all. Ed  used his position as Commissioner to protect the Parks for all of  the People. He knew the importance of our neighborhood parks and value of their recreation atributes.

He also placed a deep value on the beauty and history of our great legacy,  the Minneapolis Park System.

We would like to share the following quote from Ed;

"Minneapolis was not a City that built a Park System. Minneapolis was a City that was built within a Park System. Most of our people don't know that."
Ed knew that his words were an inspiration for the Minneapolis Parks Legacy Society.

We would extend our sympathy to the wife and family of Ed Solomon also to Bob Fine, President, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board,to Minneapolis Park Superintendent, Mary Merrill Anderson and to her staff.

Sincerely,
Theodore J Wirth, Board Chairman
and
Joan Berthiaume, President
Minneapolis Parks Legacy Society

P.S. We also wan't to  thank Annie Young for sharing the loss of Ed Solomon with us. It is not easy to be the bearer of such sad news.
