I've gotten fresh, long-lasting "pre-cut" trees at Southside Farm Store for many years. Ask Julie for recommendations, as she gets them delivered direct from local growers. The last couple of years I've gotten excellent Fraser firs, which are noted for minimal shedding anyway. I believe Julie said they come from Wisconsin.
Southside is on E. 38th Street one block east of Bloomington, so it's easy to find, too.
