(Susan Maricle)=Say's
I'm no longer a Mpls. resident, but even if I were
would be ineligible to vote in the 3d Ward election. I
agree that Don Samuels would be a dynamic choice. So
would Shane Price. Both were at Ground Zero of this
summer's "melee".
(VF) Because 2 people were at a "Ground Zero" "melee", this makes them good candidates for CM? I fail to see the logic in this. Since there were many other people involved with this, should they as well run for CM?
(VF)I don't doubt that Don or Shane are hard working advocates, for the neighborhood. The problems are still great with gangsters, youth offenders, out of home placement of children, high rates of teen pregnancy as well other crimes, people selling their homes because they have become victims of violence. Look, no man, woman nor child has all the answers, cause if they did, we would not be having this debate or any other debate and as a voter, I have to look at the bigger picture, for the sake of my daughter.
Being a CM takes more than being able to do talks in the calming of the communities, it's about the whole big picture. I want someone who knows government, not just the people but the policies, as well. I want someone who can come in with a clear open mind and work with law enforcement. I want someone who is able to work with the whole ward, not pockets and I want someone who has good plans at putting jobs in the community and the stadium is a dead issue. I want someone who will, if I may say, "Think out of the Box."
I also look for someone running a clean campaign as this will determine what kind of person the CM will be going in to office. If your dirty in the campaign, then your dirty in the office. I also want to know that my CM lives in the new ward boundaries, not the old, because I live in the old and new boundaries. To show no signs of moving to the new ward, lets me know you don't support the ward nor the people that live within them. To say you have until 2005, let's me know, that something up with the loyalty to the citizens the "DO" reside in the ward
Mainly, I just want a person to come in and do the job, the way it is supposed to be and lives in the same ward as I do...I don't think that is asking to much....
