How is the next city council member from the 3rd ward going to deal with wannabe corporate welfare queens like Carl Pohlad? Whether Pohlad and his friends can find the support they need in the legislature to make a stadium deal happen is a secondary question.
Will the state legislature have to decide what to do about a big surplus that results from a combination of tax increases and cuts in services approved by the legislature next year? That's what happened the last time that a big budget deficit was predicted. If history repeats itself a new publically-financed stadium for the Twins will be back on a front burner within 2 to 3 years. -Doug Mann, King Field http://educationright.tripod.com _______________________________________ Minneapolis Issues Forum - A City-focused Civic Discussion - Mn E-Democracy Post messages to: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe, Unsubscribe, Digest, and more: http://e-democracy.org/mpls
