only shows the blank form, but the sad probability is that anyone or any
organization can be added to this "threat" database according to the
preconceptions of whatever stereotypic thinking one dares to suggest.

I remember the bad old days of the '60s when my sexual orientation, the
friends I ate dinner with (at the Green Lantern Eating Coop), the
organization I supported (the Student Tenant Union) and the people I
lived with (who had a small cat in violation of their apartment lease)
were all disapproved of by the fellows with grey fedoras who kept busy
tracking all us activists in Madison, Wisconsin.

Now it's 2003 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and I'll just speculate that the
cyclists that stopped by Horn last summer may have tainted our image or
perhaps the scores of residents who are new to our country, or perhaps
... oh, I don't know, let's just say I share Andy Driscoll's dismay.

I do know that once "on" a blacklist, "off" is hard to arrive at and,
need I remind the list, not subject to judicial scrutiny or other checks
on those stereotypic preconceptions I can't bring myself to enumerate -
forgiddabout legal representation, phone calls while in custody, writs
of habeas corpus, whatever.

Is this "Welcome to the New World Order", right here in Minneapolis?
