Vigil of Lights for Peace Around Lake Harriet
Women Rising for Peace and Justice
Date: Friday, January 17, 2003
Time: 9:00 p.m.
Where: The path circling Lake Harriet in Minneapolis
Who: Women-initiated and women-led, but men and children are welcome to
join and/or support.
In response to the call for participation from Codepink4peace.org, there
will be acandlelight vigil surrounding Lake Harriet in south Minneapolis.
All that is required of you and your family and friends is to arrive
anywhere on the walkway surrounding the lake with a lighted candle, lantern
or flashlight and form a circle of peace around the lake. We will first
remain silent with our lights for 2 minutes at 9:10 p.m. Following the
silence, if you would like to share a gesture of peace, the stage is yours.
