Minneapolis Bill of Rights Defense Committee
The Minneapolis Bill of Rights Defense Committee was formed in order to promote a City Resolution opposing those parts of the USA PATRIOT and Homeland Security Acts, and associated orders and directives that threaten our Constitutionally guaranteed Civil Rights. Our organization is limited to promoting this resolution. We are not associated with any political party or other organization beyond a common interest in this goal. We welcome the participation of people and groups from across the political and social spectrums.
I ask you to read the Bill of Rights and then the USA Patriot Act, Homeland Security, Executive and Military orders. And then decide if you dont think your rights are being taken away.
Our Bill of Rights Provides:
1) The right to be secure in your own home with your papers and effects free from unreasonable search and seizure.
2) The right not to be searched and seizure without probable cause and a court order stating the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
3) The right not to be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law.
4) The right to keep private property. It cant be taken for public use without compensation.
5) The right to a speedy trial.
6) The right to an impartial jury.
7) The right to be confronted by witnesses against you.
8) The right to equal protection under the law.
9) Freedom of speech, to peaceably assemble and to petition the government for redress of grievances.

Justice Department regulations prohibiting illegal spying have been lifted. The CIA and FBI may join in conducting covert activities against domestic groups, as was done in the 1960s to discredit leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Call your City Council Member today and ask them to support a Resolution opposing those parts of the USA PATRIOT and Homeland Security Acts, and associated orders and directives that threaten our constitutionally guaranteed Civil Rights.
