Regarding the issue of light rail along Lyndale, I have to say that I'll be happy if they finihs the existing light rail project and VERY surprised if we see any other similar projects anytime soon. Thanks to a lot of existing political obstacles. Carol Molnau won't be a SWAT team for mass transportation, you can take THAT to the bank.
On a happier note, I went to have dinner tonight at Midori's Floating World Cafe, on 27th Ave S near Lake. This one block is a monument to diversity. There's a Latino cafe and a Latino jewelry shot. There's an East African grocery and halal meat purveyor. And now a sushi restaurant. For those of you who talk about a vital collection of small businesses, that is what the 27-Lake business district is all about. I was kinda bummed a couple of years back about the deterioration near that intersection. We had just lost a bid to keep out a pawnshop. And Town Talk Diner had gone out of business. But now things appear for the moment to be picking up, for which Longfellow can utter a sigh of relief. One door closes, but another door opens. Anyway, if you were once a Fuji-Ya fans like I was, you might enjoy Midori's Floating World. The owners and workers make it a lively place. -------------- Jim Mork--Cooper "Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be call the Children of God."
