[TB] I'm not willing to accept the pure political motivation that Ms. Heiser applies to Rep. Kahn's proposed legislation.
MM - I couldn't claim to know Rep Kahn's motivation in authoring this legislation. But the problem is that when you change the rules in the middle of the game, it becomes too difficult to separate good intentions from political motivations. That is why in any competition - from sports to politics - the rules are set up before the game is played. If we learned anything from the Florida 2000 fiasco, we learned that people's desired outcomes can certainly sway their decision-making process. If it can happen at the Supreme Court, which is supposed to play the highest level role of impartiality, then it can certainly happen in the MN State Legislature.
