Now that the War resolution matter seems to be mute,
I think that we can move on to matters that have
a more immediate impact on the city. If I recall
correctly Chief Olson was urging the creation of an
anti-terrorist unit in the Mpls Police Dept. In a
pervious post immediately after 9/11 I supported
such a unit, but I think that we need to be extremely
careful to avoid violating our civil rights. How
could we create a police intelligence unit that would
help protect the city and the nation against terrorism
and still insure our Constitutional rights?

What do you think?
