RE: Having your Issues List post quoted by the press:
As a rule of thumb, I think if you send anything by e-mail, you probably should be willing to see it up on a billboard in your neighborhood. Because that's the nature of the beast and the Send Button.
And as a former newspaper reporter, I think if you post something on the Issues List, a public list which already has--what? 800 or more subscribers?---you should be prepared to be quoted in the local press. That's also the nature of the beast. Reporters really don't and shouldn't have to ask your permission. You already put yourself out there. All you can do is hope to be quoted accurately and within context.
RE: Third Ward race and comments by Lisa MacDonald in Pi-Press story. Gosh, you'd almost not know from Lisa's comments that Don Samuels is also a DFLer. So if Samuels wins, the DFL wins. As far as the DFL is concerned, the party can't lose.
Which is what Brian Melendez, the wise and smart chair of the Minneapolis DFL, already posted earlier.
Lynnell Mickelsen
Rooting for Don Samuels from Ward 13
TEMPORARY REMINDER:
1. Send all posts in plain-text format.
2. Cut as much of the post you're responding to as possible.
