Gary and others might be interested in knowing that as tremendous a public
speaker as Natalie Johnson-Lee is, she still had to prepare her speech in
advance of Bush's State of the Union address and anticipate what he was
going to say.

I just read her speech again and I thought she did a darn good job of
anticipating what Bush would say and did an even better job of responding to
it. And unlike Bush's speech, which had a main topic of war, the main topic
of Natalie's speech was peace and how she has heard from her constituents
and colleagues that they want peace, not war. Her message was about justice
for working Americans, for minorities, for the elderly and children and for
immigrants.

Now - think about it. Who among us wants war? Do you want war? Does
anyone in your family want war? Does your neighbor or your co-worker want
war? I don't personally know anybody who wants war.

Gary said that 2/3 of Americans support military action. Where are they?
Who are they? If this war does indeed happen, it won't be fought in my name
and I don't think it will be fought in many of yours.

I commend Natalie Johnson-Lee for doing such a wonderful job of not only
representing the Green Party, but Minneapolis so well. We should all be
proud of her right now.
