Precedent? Certainly.
Look at any of the Minneapolis Ward sample ballots from the last city election, in 2001 -- they ALL have that exact same identification & mailing permit on them. Or look at the Sample ballots for Legislative Districts in the 2002 elections -- they had that same info.

All the units like the Minneapolis DFL, 59th Senate District DFL, etc. are legal subsidiaries of the State DFL Party. Mailings of Sample Ballots are done by the State office, due to USPO rules. (The State DFL has argued with the Post Office about this in the past, but they make the rules.)

Dennis would do better to discuss the merits of his candidate, rather than pretend amazement at the standard Sample Ballot mailing.

Tim Bonham, Ward 12, Standish-Ericsson

Can anyone find precedent of this EVER having been done for a DFL candidate in a city council election?? Anyone? Who (within the state dfl) would be in a position to make such a decision?
