Samuels upsets Moore in Minneapolis' Third Ward

Neighborhood activist Donald Samuels, a 
political novice, defeated DFL endorsee 
Olin Moore in the election Monday to fill 
the Minneapolis City Council vacated by Joe 
Biernat.

Samuels won 53 percent of the vote -- 1,199 
to Moore's 1,059 -- in unofficial results 
from the city Elections Department.
