There's no other way to put this: in unallotment, the Governor blinked.

Pawlenty threatened to cut funding to the districts with more poor kids than
any other (compensatory aid for Minneapolis and St. Paul) , and a day later,
even his own finance commissioner was backing away from the threat. Today,
compensatory funding was nowhere among the cuts.

I don't know all the other ins and outs, but the Senate DFLers hung tough
and Pawlenty did not disproportionately cut city schools. So congrats to the
Senators.

There's still big trouble down the road, of course...
