Open Referendum on War with Iraq at the U of M. 2.26.03 ------------------------------------------------------- Thursday, February 20th, 2003 Students Against War Teach-In Series #4: War and the Media 5:00 P.M. Amundson Hall Room 240 (http://onestop.umn.edu/Maps/AmundH/) The 1991 Persian Gulf War marked a period of intese suffering and death for the people of Iraq. Almost none of this was shown through the lenses of the major U.S Media outlets. Meanwhile, CNN achieved it's highest ratings ever. Will we see a repeat of this if the Bush administration decides to go to war again? Come join us and guest speakers Scott Laderman, Columnist with the Minnesota Daily, and Michael Cavlan of the Twin Cities Counter-Propaganda Coalition to discuss the roles of the Media in times of War. This event is free and open to the public as part of the Students Against War Teach-In Series.
