I stayed at the seminar until the bitter end - it was a whine with no cheese session.
Actually it was Carville who told Clinton "It's the economy, stupid." I have always said "It's the spending, stupid." We need to replace the "Profiles in Learning" with the "Profiles in Earning" since our current crop of children will have to pay all of OUR debts, OUR health care costs, and OUR pensions. These poor kids have no idea how much they are going to have to earn in order to pay for OUR greed. The spending spree spawned by a decade of fraud and deception was nothing more than a Ponzi scheme that's run out of suckers. Instead of housing the homeless, Minneapolis built a skating rink. Instead of maintaining its parks, Minneapolis moved the Shubert Theater. Instead of upgrading its infrastructure, Minneapolis doled out corporate welfare. Mirror, mirror on the wall - we're the ones who spent it all! The City's debts were up to $2.2 billion at the end of 2001, including interest. During that year, Minneapolis spent $137,304,000 FOR DEBT SERVICE ALONE - A LOT MORE THAN THE ENTIRE POLICE DEPARTMENT!!!!!!! My blood is boiling - I had better stop writing.
