In the old days it was called Central Park and I think most people still think of it as a central park. Easy to get to by most modes of transportation.
Unfortunately, it is also the only downtown park/greensapce because we have had this obsession with covering over paradise.
At the Peace rally this past weekend the added attraction of the Basilica Bells ringing added quite an aura to the event.
And , yes, even though there are over 80 parks and venues around the city where an outside rally could be held everyone does seem to gravitate to Loring Park the most.
