I am somewhat concerned by the short timeline for wider dissemination and consideration of the proposal in advance of the public hearing at Ways & Means/Budget Committee on Monday, Feb. 24. This just seems like allowing very little time for people to read the proposal, call a council member, write a letter, send an email, or perhaps take time off work to attend the Monday, Feb. 24 public hearing on short notice...

I agree as well. I Tailgate on the same concerns of Jeffery. With having just a couple of days to review the material I was sent as well, I feel that people do not have enough time to respond to their respective council members for additions or questions.
After reading my copy, I do support the Code of Ethics draft that was sent to me. I feel that anyone sitting on a commission or board that represents the city of Minneapolis could get caught up in some questionable ethics issues that could very well jeopardize the integrity of the city and the commission or board of which one is appointed to. I did, however have some questions with some of the language that was used. Also the collections of sensitive information, who will have it?, where will it be stored? how often will information need to be taken? and who will have access to the information gather or collected from all those listed in the draft. These questions may already be with the draft, but, I am not seeing it at this time, or maybe I glazed over it.
Jeffery say's:
I urge the City Council to allow more time for serious review and
consideration by City Residents of the proposed revised Ethics Code proposal from the Ethics Task Force.
Vanessa: I concur with Jeffery's thoughts, this is a serious issue and needs serious dialog with those impacted and affected by this ethics code. It is also better to get and obtain all thoughts and opinons, so everything is cystal clear, leaving no room for doubts and second guesses.
