To those people that are interested in how our tax dollars are being spent may wnat to listen to McKinley Boston make another presentation about things we did not need to pay for! I believe his consulting fee was $190,000 to explain why there has been a decline in sports activity among teens within the city limits. Having coached for the parkboard at the rec level I certainly understand that kids are active at the parks up until about 7th grade - then they are off to club teams, traveling teams and high school sports. Did I need to have my tax dollars spent to have someone tell me that information? This is another example of our Park Board Commissioners spending our money in ways that don't add value or service. I bet there are numbers of Park & Rec employees and volunteer coaches that could have given the same report that you will here tonight from Mr. Boston. Did they feel bad for Mr. Boston because he was no longer employed at the University of Minnesota?
Rumor has it that the Park Board is looking at more property on the river. Spend now pay later mentality is rampant with these folks.
