Karen Collier suggested that citizens contact the superintendent Mary Merrill Anderson.  That is certainly something worth considering.  The question then is why do we have a Park Board Commission elected by the citizens of Mpls.  Bob Fine is the President of the Board and our district commissioner.  He is supposed to be the person that responds to citizen inquiries.  Mary has a staff and bigger responsibilites to take care of on a daily basis. Do we pay her to respond to every question from citizens.  I believe the purpose of the Board is to be responsive to the public. Bob Fine is not what we would call "user friendly".  Some of the emails that we have sent were never acknowledged or took 2 months for an answer.  Most of our questions relate to how money is being spent - something Mr. Fine likes to avoid.  For example at last nights board meeting there was a discussion about a recent trip that Bob Fine,  Jon Olson and Mary Merrill Anderson took to St. Louis. Rochelle Berry Graves asked - did the trip have anything to do with park board business.  This is an interesting question.  Does that mean the board was unaware that the three of them were going to St. Louis?  Bob Fine's reply was - I am not going to answer that question, it depends on what you mean by park board business, and if you want to discuss that with me you can call me directly Rochelle.  We find that type of response from an elected Park Board Commissioner not only suspicious but totally unprofessional.  Why would he not respond to a straight forward question from another commissioner?

We wish more people paid attention to the 80 million dollar budget that the commissioners are overseeing.
