Anyone know if any effort has been made by the powers that be to lure the
Penumbra Theater to our fair white way? They consistently stage some of the
most wonderful productions in the Twin Cities from a third rate venue that
can be hard to find without some effort if you haven't been there before.
I know that Lew Bellamy has been working for years for a new building at
University and Dale but nothing has been written in stone yet. Why not try
and
entice him to Hennepin. What a proud anchor Penumbra would make for the
theater district growing there. Dare I say that Bellamy could save that
boondoggle of boodoggles:
the Schubert. Imagine the "Variety" type headline:
PENUMBRA TURNS WHITE ELEPHANT INTO BLACK INK!!!
Just a thought. Plus I'm tired of driving over there.

P.S. I can't recommend the August Wilson plays enough to do them justice.
